  1. Abstract

    A newsletter could serve the long term communication needs of the developers of the Robowars Role playing Game by providing a forum for intermediate publishing and critique. The editorial polices of the newsletter would be towards lightly edited material allowing all pertinent manner of written responses as submissions as well.
  2. Introduction

    Sumarrily, The Robowars Role playing Game started roughly 1988 while the creators were still lamenting in junior high school. They have been in somewhat periodic communication pertaining to the gaming universe ever since.
  3. Proposal

    Let there be a small magazine dedicated to the Robowars Role playing Game Universe, which could start off as a newsletter between the core developers of the role playing game universe.
  4. Description of Newsletter

    1. Purpose

      The newsletter would provide a small scale, low cost, reasonably accessible and organized forum for publishing, critiquing and corresponding about the Robowars Role playing Game Universe.

      The newsletter would be both a funnel and a magnet for any contributions to the Robowars Role playing Game Universe. Any contributions to the universe should be posted to the newsletter.

    2. Scope

      The RRPG Newsletter is to be semi-periodical, it's frequency to be determined by a survey among potential members of it's mailing list. The newsletter would initially be sent to those who responded to the simple survey.
    3. Subject Matter

      Subject Matter to be included in the 'zine is to among these items:
      • Appropriate Correspondence
      • Submitted (and hopefully edited) fictional literature
      • Art
      • Submitted (relevant and edited) critiques of submitted work
    4. Format

      The 'zine will take submissions from subscribers, edit them as time permits, and organize them onto paper. Make copies for the subscribers, and mail it to the subscribers. Subscribers would respond via Internet or US Mail.
  5. Elaboration of Responsibilities to Newsletter

    1. Responsibilities of Editor(s)

      The 'zine editor would be mailing out the 'zine. The editor would be responsible for verifying the arrival of submissions, and the custodianship of memberships.
    2. Responsibilities of Back Issues

      Back issues of the newsletter and/or 'zine should be kept in a place known to be published in the newsletter. Ideally, they would stay with the editors of the newsletter/zine.
    3. Responsibilities of Submitted Material

      The editor is responsible for some form of notification whether submitted material has been received. Pertinent submissions, this being inclusive to the subject of any aspect of the Robowars Role playing Game Universe, should be published. Submitted material should not be original copies of work; submissions are not expected to be returned.
  6. Policies of Newsletter

    1. Who can subscribe

      Until revised, anyone who completes and returns a subscription survey and gets added to our mailing list.
    2. Who may submit

      Anyone who subscribes to the newsletter/zine.
    3. Submission Standards and Final Appearance

      The basic submission standards for the newsletter will be that the submitted material be legible, pertinent, and appropriate to present to the readers of the newsletter. The submission standards should not be exclusive of any members or ideas; such exclusion is against the basic tenant of a forum.

      The intended appearance of the newsletter/zine will be towards constant improvement. I would like to eventually be able to show it to our parents and then publishers and not have them laugh at it.
